Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) had good year.

President Chris Lees said CWA reported net income of roughly $325,000 for 2019.

“In 2019, we invested in the show, brought in new programming and continued to put our exhibitors, visitors, and partners first,” Lees said in a news release.

Lees said long-term sustainability is more important than ever right now.

Last year’s show saw over 10,000 students, more than 1,300 international guests from 86 different countries, and over 350 volunteers involved.

Earlier this month, CWA announced the postponement of their 50th show until 2021 due to COVID-19. Work on digital programming, mentorship, scholarships, and education will continue for CWA in 2020.

Registration is now open for the Ag In Motion digital event.

On July 21 to 25, farmers can have access to new equipment, livestock experts, exhibitor innovations and more on Ag in Motion Discovery Plus.

This virtual event will bring a farm show experience on-demand and free of charge.

Equipment will be featured in side-by-side videos allowing farmers to compare products, there will be a virtual Ride & Drive, and livestock central will demonstrate cattle handling and livestock equipment. Crop plot tours will look at time-lapse photography and interviews with representatives to discuss what is new for 2020.

G3 Canada has opened two new grain elevators in Alberta.

High-efficiency facilities in Morinville and Carmangay feature the same high-efficiency operations with the capacity to unload trucks in minutes. The new facilities ship grain to G3 Terminal Vancouver.

Four more G3 elevators are under construction in Wetaskiwin, Stettler County, Vermilion and Irricana, which will open next year.

In Saskatchewan, G3 Swift Current is also scheduled to be completed in 2021.

Grand opening events have been delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
