WILLIAM ESOPENKO
September 23, 1930 ~ June 6, 2020
Mr. William (Bill) Esopenko of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and formerly of Strong Pine District passed away quietly in the Herb Bassett Senior’s Home on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 5:36 pm at the age of 89.
He was born on September 23, 1930 in the Strong Pine District. In 1979, he married Denise Schmidt, and adopted her 3 children Linda, Darlene and Edward and had a another daughter, Sharon. They farmed over the years until 1999 and moved to Prince Albert after retirement with his wife Denise. Denise went into the Herb Bassett Senior’s Home, followed by William shortly after suffering a stroke and a heart attack in 2014. He offered bible lessons and led the exercise program for the residents of Herb Bassett Home. Bill enjoyed helping out at his church, doing construction, making lunch at the schools for children, playing violin and enjoying his grandchildren.
William was predeceased by: his parents, Michael and Maria Esopenko; his brothers Leon (Mary) Esopenko, Nicolas (Susan) Esopenko and George Esopenko; his sisters Anne (Mike) Snider, Kae (Bud) Bohach and Aksania (Pete) Peterson; as well as brother-in-laws Vic Phaneuf, Bill Eimers, Dave Kosowan and Dwight Leonard.
William is survived by: his wife Denise and his 4 children, Linda Barden, Jenna Morga, Edward Esopenko and his wife Karen, and Sharon Otte and her husband Bryan and their children; his sisters, Maria Kosowan Leonard, Stephanie Phaneuf and Jayne Eimers; Trevor (Krystal) Barden and their children Angela, Anthony, Ashton, Cody Skylar, Charleigh and Abigail; Rob (Nicole) Brandoline and their children Nathan, Zachary, and Julia; Christopher (Krystal) Meeds and their children Taylor and Nathan; Brad (Christina) Meeds McGowan and their children, Houston and Zoey; Erron (Amanda) Esopenko and their children Aurora and Grayson; Ryan (Laurie) Esopenko and their child, Jordan; Jared (Sammy) Otte; Landon (Esther) Otte; Chantel (Otte) Casemore and Bryden’s children Aubryn and Eliana; and numerous friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be sincerely missed by his family and friends.
