Ernest “Ernie” Labiuk

August 29, 1951 ~ June 5, 2020

 

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Ernest “Ernie” Labiuk of Prince Albert, SK at the Victoria Hospital on June 5, 2020. Ernie was born in Prince Albert August 29, 1951 to Mary and William Labiuk growing up in the nearby Honeymoon area. On August 12, 1972 he married Diane nee Courteau in Prince Albert, SK.  Ernie worked at Clearview Glass for 44 years before retiring. He enjoyed sports, playing softball, gardening, fishing, playing cards, loved to tease and loved the company of his children and grandchildren.

Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Diane (Courteau), their children Shaun, Ryan and his son Jacob Labiuk, Kara (Tyler) Illerbrun and their children Ryllah, Jordy, Jones and Lowynn; his sisters Linda (Sid) Sorenson, Marlene Carrier, Pearl Labiuk, brother Wayne (Iris) Labiuk; brother-in-law Roland Courteau, sisters-in-law Marilyn Courteau, Lorraine (Bobby) Williams, Georgette (Alphonse) Fahl, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Ernie was predeceased by his parents William and Mary (Charko) Labiuk; parents in law Pierre and Simone (Leblanc) Courteau; daughter Kyla (in infancy); his brothers Richard and David; brother in law Norman Carrier, sister in law Judy Courteau, niece Kimberly Sorenson and nephew Leland Courteau.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. at Grays Funeral Chapel- 575 28 Street West. Please remember due to COVID we will only be allowing people to view 30 at a time with social distancing required, your caution and patience is appreciated. Donations in Ernie’s memory can be made to the Arthritis Society. Condolences can be sent to the family on www.grays.ca .
