2020 outdoor farm show will have a new look

Ag in Motion (AIM) will move to a new format for 2020.

AIM will be a fully digital event as it adjusts to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Show director Rob O’Connor said since it’s not possible to hold a three day event with 30,000 people they will still offer the public a chance to see equipment, plots, demonstrations and presentations streamed on-line.

O’Connor said this year’s event will be called Ag in Motion Discovery Plus.

“With so many events having to cancel there is more need for this type of option then we even realize right now,” O’Connor said. “What we’ll do is create this new virtual, digital, print and video platform that will allow farmers to see all of these new innovations, product launches and things they would have seen at the show.”

This would also include seminars that have been a part of the show in past years and on-site crop plots, all featured on-line.

O’Connor said exhibitors have been receptive to the idea. Farmers are quite comfortable working with technology. He said using a cell phone or a laptop is part of everyday life.

“I don’t think this is going to be a stretch for anybody. We utilize this information through the cab of our sprayer, combine or tractor already. This is going to be a very easy transition for farmers to utilize, as well as the ag companies,” he said.

Ag in Motion Discovery Plus is a free on-line event that will run a full week this year from July 21 to 25.
