Marcel Gerald Frenette
March 29, 1945 ~ April 27, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Marcel Gerald Frenette announce his passing away on Monday April 27, 2020 at Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, SK at the age of 75 years.
Marcel was born March 29, 1945 in Spiritwood, SK to parents Romeo and Laurette Frenette. He was raised with his many siblings in a home full of activity and family bustle. He married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Stark Cripps on May 9, 1964. They eventually made the province of Alberta their home and Kevin, their only child, was born. In 2005 on his 60th birthday, he received his most valued gift: his granddaughter, Kelsie Michelle, was born to share this special date with him. Life was busy for the family with Marcel and Mary facing life’s challenges together until losing Mary in 2013. Realizing that more family was in his Saskatchewan roots, he relocated to Prince Albert, SK eventually making Nelson Care Home his residence.
Marcel is survived by his son Kevin Frenette, his granddaughter Kelsie Michelle Frenette, his siblings: Denise Bremner, Rita Ruszcowski, Carmen Ruszcowski and Paulette MacGillivray, sisters-in-law: Yvonne Frenette and Janet McKay, brothers-in-law: Lawrence McKay, Gilbert Bremner and Leo MacGillivray as well as numerous other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
Marcel was pre-deceased by his wife, Mary Frenette; his parents: Romeo and Laurette Frenette his mother in law: Janet Cripps; his brothers: Denis Frenette and Gilles Frenette, sisters: Lucille Doucette and Pauline Frenette (in infancy), brothers in law: Leon Doucette, Clarence Ruszcowski, and sister-in-law: Jeanette Frenette.
There are many people that were special to Marcel, and Kevin would like to take this time to thank a few: the extended, loving family of Kristine Page, Linda James, Alwyn James, the staff of the Nelson Care Home in Prince Albert, SK for making Marcel’s stay like home, and staff of the Victoria Hospital Prince Albert, SK for making Marcel’s last days as comfortable and caring as he could be. He is now happily reunited with Mary.
Oh, merci, Mon papa, J’ai compris
