It is with great sadness that the family of Larry Boettcher announces his passing on March 3, 2020 in Prince Albert, SK.
Larry was born on March 10, 1945 to Karl and Helen Boettcher. He grew up on a farm in the Spruce Home area and was the eldest of 5 siblings. He married his wife, Ina Elaine Boettcher (Mackie) on May 20, 1967.
Larry worked at Weyerheauser as an insulator from his late twenties until he retired in 2005. He spent many years an active member of the Elk’s Club, playing in weekend darts tournaments, and even spent a term as Exalted Ruler. Larry enjoyed travelling to places such as Denmark, British Isle, England, Scotland, Las Vegas, Hawaii, going on Alaskan cruises, touring Eastern Canada, and many other places.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved taking his granddaughters on trips to places like Drumheller, AB and Invermere, BC.
Larry is survived by his children Brent (April) Boettcher and Susan Boettcher; granddaughters Amethyst (Arran) Hamilton, Miranda (Derek Duret) Boettcher, Kaitlin Chester and Brennyn Skjeie; great grandchildren Mya Duret, Anna Lee Duret, Maddux Hamilton, Jaxon Hamilton, Lennix Duret and Weston Hamilton; siblings Lorraine Courtney, Gloria Cudmore, Doug Boettcher, Chuck (Mary Lynn) Boettcher as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Larry is predeceased by his wife Ina Boettcher; parents Karl and Helen Boettcher; brothers in law Dave Mackie, Ken Mackie, Earl Armstrong (common-law), Ken Thompson (common-law); sisters in law Elsie Thompson (common-law), Alberta Mackie; mother and father-in-law Edna and Roy Mackie.
A special thank you to the Herb Bassett Home for taking such wonderful care of Larry, and to all those who knew and loved him.
Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Herb Bassett Home, 1200-24 Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca.
