BLOMMAERT, Lorraine Janet
Aug. 25, 1953 – Feb. 20, 2020
Lorraine Blommaert (Nee: Pocha) passed away peacefully on the morning of February 20th, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Dennis, two step children Katherine and Chris (Jennifer), four grandchildren Alex, Kaitlynn, Peyton and Jacob , and her sister and brother Jacqueline Robertson and Robert Pocha (Sandra). Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Doris Pocha and her brother Gordan Pocha.
Lorraine was born in the small community of MacDowall Saskatchewan. Lorraine’s different jobs took her all over Canada as an investigator for many government agencies but primarily to the North West Territories, Calgary, Toronto, and finally to Vancouver where she met her husband Dennis and were married for 24 years. She will always be remembered as a loving, loyal friend and a good listener to anyone who had a problem. Her favourite past times included gardening, music, and travel. She especially loved the Hawaiian Islands where she and Dennis spent many winters enjoying the local culture. When people who knew Lorraine were asked to describe her, the first thing they would say was “she was a classy lady!” No funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
