Titans secure their first ever playoff spot
With their big 3-2 win over the Carrot River Thunder on Sunday at the Kinsmen Arena, the Prince Albert Titans punched their first Prairie Junior Hockey League playoff ticket.
The Titans were created in the 2015-16 season after changing their name from the Prince Albert Icehawks. The Titans missed out on the postseason since the change until this year. The last time the Icehawks made the postseason was in the 2011-12 season.
Ashton Morin scored two unassisted goals in the third period to erase a 2-1 deficit and give the Titans the victory. Travis Dryka made 46 saves on 48 shots for the Titans. Ben Zultok scored the first Titans’ goal.
The Titans have three games left in the regular season, Saturday at the Kinsmen Arena against the Saskatoon Westleys, Sunday at the Kinsmen Arena against the Thunder, and in Kerrobert on Feb. 15 against the West Central Rage.
