Lawrence Eugene McKenzie was born on Sunday, September 27, 1964, in La Ronge, SK, and passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020, in Brabant Lake, SK, at the age of 55 years. Lawrence is survived by his loving family, his companion, Rose Venne; his sons, Donovan O. Cook, Daniel A. Cook, Christopher J. Cook (Gabriel), Morgan W. Cook (Shirley), Bryton Cook (Deanna), Solomon “David” Charles; his grandchildren, Ricardo, Sabastian, Sonny, Jesse James, Cleo, Niel, Zoey, Chloe, Holly, Donovan Jr.; his brothers and sisters, Cindy McKenzie, Mickey McKenzie (Shreena), Diane McKenzie, Wanda McKenzie (Brian), Christine McKenzie, Cindy Thimpsen; his stepfather, Chris Thimpsen (Maryanne); his special aunt & uncles, Phillip & Annie Eninew; his special friends, Sidley Cook, Calvin Jr. Charles, Calvin Sr. Charles, Keith Cook; his godchildren, Amber Charles, Cyrena Ratt, Melissa Cook; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence & Alice (nee McLeod) McKenzie; his grandparents, Rodrick & Rosie McKenzie; Josiah & Sarah (nee Charles) McLeod; his sisters, Beverly McLeod, Wendy McKenzie; his brother, Chris Thimpsen Jr.; his nieces, Kelly McKenzie, Kaylee McKenzie, Wendy McKenzie; his nephew, Jonathan Thimpsen; and numerous other relatives. The Wake Services for Lawrence will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Kitsaki Hall, in La Ronge, SK, continued at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, in Stanley Mission, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 1: 00 p.m., on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, in Stanley Mission, SK, Rev. Richard Custer, Tom Sanderson, Edna Mirasty, James Eninew, Leona McKenzie, and Eugene Merasty officiating. Interment to follow at Stanley Mission Cemetery.
