Locally-made movie to hit major streaming service

Prince Albert and area residents have the chance to beat the world to the punch as Run Wolf, Run is set to make its Prince Albert premiere.

Coming up on Monday Feb. 3, the locally-made movie will be showing at the John M. Cuelenaere Public Library.

“It’s nice to have a showing in P.A. because a lot of it was filmed here. Carli (Robertson, the director) is from here, some of the actors are from here. It’s nice to showcase the incredible amount of talent that Prince Albert does have,” lead actress Andreanna Boucher said.

Boucher noted some of the P.A. actors and actresses include Thomas Hugo, Cara Stelmaschuk, Kim Morral, Maureen Pepper and others.

The project took three years to develop and was shot during weekends when most of the actors weren’t working their full time jobs.

“We had some really intense weekends where we would shoot from sun up till after sun down. It was a lot of hard work but definitely worth it. A great creative journey,” Boucher said.

Boucher noted Robertson worked tirelessly on the project.

“She wrote it, directed it. She did almost all the work on editing and shooting. It was mainly a one woman show,” she added.

Carli Robertson replied in an email to paNOW and said it’s been amazing to celebrate with cast and crew as the film is viewed by more and more people.

“Experiencing it with an audience is great because as the story unfolds and twists and turns. You can really feel the different emotions that are shared within the room,” Robertson said.

For her part, Robertson knew it was important to make the show available in P.A. for locals to see it firsthand.

“I am originally from Prince Albert, and a lot of the cast and crew live there as well so I am excited to bring it home to share with even more family and friends, as well as anyone who couldn’t make it to Saskatoon [for the premiere],” she said.

Primed

Eager to let everyone in on the good news, Robertson also revealed to paNOW Run Wolf, Run will also debut on Amazon Prime Feb. 14.

“For the thriller lovers out there, it’s the perfect time to curl up on the couch with some chocolate and watch Run Wolf, Run,” Robertson said.

Tickets for the show at the John M. Cuelenaere Public Library are available at the On The Avenue Art Gallery. If not sold out, tickets will also be available at the door.
