A young writer and director is about to see her work on the big screen.

Carli Robertson is the brains behind the film, Run Wolf Run.

“It’s been about three years in the making. I started writing the script January 2017,” Robertson told paNOW. She gave a brief synopsis of the plot of the psychological thriller.

“A woman keeps blacking out and forgetting what happened the night before and basically a bunch of crazy things start happening.”

Robertson who is from Prince Albert, said she was very thankful and appreciative of lead actors, Adreanna Boucher and Thomas (TJ) Hugo, as well as the 44 cast and crew members from the area who helped her complete the project.

“Everyone was amazing. It was all pretty much volunteer with friends and people helping each other out. It was just amazing that we could basically do this on no budget,” Robertson said.

Robertson also utilized some of the local landscape, shooting some of the outdoor scenes south of P.A near Davis, Sask. She also hinted that some who watch the film might recognize a local Prince Albert business.

Previously, Robertson has acted on other projects and even produced a short film, but Run Wolf Run will be her first feature film.

While she hopes lots of people come out and enjoy the premier Dec. 7, at the Broadway Theatre in Saskatoon, she did warn that it may not be for all audiences.

“It’s definitely for a mature audience. I have purchased a film classification, but they have not completed it yet, so I’m not completely sure on the rating,” Robertson said.

Tickets will go on sale Oct. 31, and can be purchased the Broadway Theatre’s website.
