Tearrius George staying with Riders; Club releases two others
The Saskatchewan Roughriders are bringing back two players from last season’s roster.
The team announced on Monday, international defensive lineman Tearrius George and national defensive back Matt Webster have signed extensions. The terms of both deals are not being released.
This upcoming season with be George’s ninth in the CFL and sixth with the Riders. The North Carolina native signed with Saskatchewan as a free agent in 2011. Through 111 career regular season games, George has 181 defensive tackles, 42 quarterback sacks, and six forced fumbles.
George was named a West Division All-Star in 2013 and 2014 — and also won a Grey Cup with the Riders in 2013.
