Premier says he’s excited about Harry and Megan possibly moving to B.C.

VICTORIA — Premier John Horgan says he is excited by the prospect of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle calling British Columbia their part-time home.

He says he took comfort in the response Harry, Meghan and their baby, Archie, received when they spent the Christmas holiday in the Victoria area and were largely left alone.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly spent the holidays at a secluded beachfront villa in North Saanich, where they were seen exploring the community.

Horgan says he hasn’t given a lot of thought to the cost of the family putting down roots in the province, if B.C. is where they choose to spend their time in Canada.

He joked that should the family settle in Victoria, he was sure he could find something for Harry to do and suggested that with the province’s film industry thriving, there would be roles for actress Meghan to play.

Earlier today, the Queen said there will be a period of transition to sort things out on the couple’s future roles as members of the Royal Family during which Meghan and Harry will spend time in both Canada and the U.K.
