Drs. Lalita and late Dr. Tilak Malhotra to be Honored at Doctor’s Gala

The Victoria Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that we will be honouring our community’s long-time pediatric and obstetric team, Drs. Lalita and the late Dr. Tilak Malhotra at our 5th Annual Doctor’s Gala scheduled for April 18, 2020.

We are also excited to announce and welcome The Car Guys of Mann Northway GMC as our new presenting title sponsor.

Since arriving in our community in 1975, Tilak Malhotra became the first and only pediatrician in our community for nearly 20 years.

Lalita and Tilak were the first maternal care and pediatric physician team in the north.

Over the decades, the Malhotras safeguarded the health of both mothers and their newborns for nearly 42 years. Their impact on young families has been particularly important with the First Nations communities throughout those years, where Lalita was bestowed the nickname “Angel of the North” by northern families and leaders.

Recently, a major gift from the Malhotras completed the Victoria Hospital Foundation’s 2.2 million dollar NICU for the North campaign, making possible a larger, brighter and better equipped space for mothers and their newborns at the Victoria Hospital.

Tickets go on sale January 15, 2020.

Entertainment sponsor RiverPark Funeral Home will bring a special performance by Hindu Society of Sas-katchewan dancers followed by an “After Party” with local Prince Albert band “Rewind.”

Our Gala’s mission is to bring together our medical professionals and community in a first-class social event for a common mission of solidarity to raise funds for the hospital.
