USports: Mustangs blank Carabins 4-0 in women’s hockey quarterfinal
LONDON, Ont. — Carmen Lasis stopped all 41 shots she faced as the Western Mustangs shut out the Montreal Carabins 4-0 on Thursday in the quarterfinal of the Canadian university women’s hockey championship.
Shailyn Waites scored twice for Western, the host of the tournament. Ali Beres and Rachel Armstrong added singles.
Marie-Pier Chabot turned aside 22-of-25 shots for Montreal.
The Mustangs scored on their only power play and the Carabins had no man advantages.
