Riders re-sign CFL all-star Dan Clark

After an all-star campaign in 2019, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced centre Dan Clark won’t be heading to the free agent market.

The team announced Clark has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the Green and White through 2021.

Clark started every game in 2019 despite being in a serious car crash before the season began.

He originally joined the Roughriders in 2009 as a territorial junior as a member of the Regina Thunder.

Clark played his 100th CFL game on July 27 against the B.C. Lions and has appeared in 112 games overall.

The 31-year-old was a main-stay on an injured offensive line during the 2019 season. Despite all the injuries, the group went on to allow just 37 sacks. The offensive line also helped the Roughriders become the third-best rushing attack in the league, averaging 112.8 yards per game for a total of 2,030 yards and a league-high 26 rushing touchdowns.

Clark was named a CFL all-star for the first time in his career and was the team’s nominee for most outstanding offensive lineman.
