The family of the late Timothy Hunt regret to announce that he passed away on Dec. 14, 2012 in the Lakewood Lodge in Big River, SK. at the age of 96 years.
Timothy was born Oct 21, 1916 in England. He travelled across from England on a ship when he was 7 years old. He enjoyed the trip because he had the run of the ship as his mother was very seasick, and his father was busy with his younger brother. The family came west to Saskatoon, and then homesteaded in the Bodmin area where Timothy grew up with his 4 younger brothers. He was enlisted in the army from 1942 to 1946 serving overseas in Italy, Germany & France. After being discharged he returned to Sask. and worked as a farmer and general labourer in many different areas finishing up working for the DNR (now SERM) on the fire crew. He spent all his retirement years in the Big River area, helping Arthur with the garden, picking bottles, reading and living a very quiet life. At 95 Timothy moved into the lodge after falling and breaking his hip.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Big River Legion Hall with Delores Beaulac as officiant.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lakewood Lodge Auxillary. Beau”Lac” Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
