Prince Albert RCMP ask public for help finding two missing girls

Prince Albert RCMP are asking for the public’s help finding two missing girls who were last seen early Saturday morning near Wahpeton First Nation. 

Police said 11-year-old Samantha Ross-Bird and 13-year-old Sofija Hila were reported missing on Aug. 15 at around 10 a.m. They were last seen around midnight that same day in the RM of Buckland, near Wahpeton First Nation. 

Since receiving the report, Prince Albert RCMP have been checking places Ross-Bird and Hila are known to visit and following up on information received. Investigators are now asking anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward. 

Ross-Bird is described as five-foot-three and 130 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing black clothing. 

Hila is described as five-foot-three and 130 pounds, with brown eyes and shoulder-length brown and blonde hair with bangs. She was also last seen wearing black clothing. 

RCMP believe the girls may be together. Police said they may have travelled to the Prince Albert area, but their current whereabouts are unknown.
