Prince Albert area businesses named finalists for provincial awards

The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce 2026 Achievement of Business Excellence (ABEX) Awards gala will be held in late September, and the list of finalists includes three businesses from the Prince Albert area home.

Lake Country Co-op is up for the Marketing Award, and Cornerstone Insurance was nominated for the Workplace Excellence Award.

Cody Demerais, Limitless Gear Clothing Corp (Birch Hills) made the shortlist for the Young Entrepreneur Award.

This year’s event will take place on Sept. 26 at TCU Place in Saskatoon. The Chamber received 118 applications from entrepreneurs and businesses across Saskatchewan, representing 22 communities province-wide.

From this, 42 unique organizations have been selected as finalists competing across the 11 application-based award categories. All application-based categories undergo two rounds of judging and are objectively evaluated by a third-party accounting firm using a standardized scoring matrix. The special award recipients are independently selected by the ABEX Judging Committee.

The theme of this year’s event is Luminary: For Those Who Light the Way. Chosen for its dual meaning, a source of light and a person or business whose vision, leadership, and influence inspire others, Luminary honours organizations whose excellence extends far beyond their own success, creating lasting impact across Saskatchewan’s business community.

“These finalists exemplify what it means to be a luminary in Saskatchewan business. They’re innovating, building, and creating impact in their communities. ABEX has always been rooted in recognizing provincial excellence, and these 42 organizations represent the breadth and depth of leadership we look forward to celebrating on September 26,” said Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO Prabha Ramaswamy.
