Three people charged

Prince Albert police search home in high-risk operation after shooting

Jul 6, 2026 | 9:45 AM

A second visit by members of the Prince Albert Police Service to a home in the 1600 block of Muir Drive on July 4 resulted in the discovery of more weapons and ammunition, as well as the arrest of seven people.

Police said they executed the search warrant as a high-risk operation following an incident earlier that day in which a 30-year-old man was shot and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the shooting followed an altercation between groups of people in the area and involved bear spray and multiple gunshots.

Using specialized resources, officers deployed a controlled surround-and-call-out, which resulted in everyone leaving the home without incident.

Dallas McLeod, 36, is charged with aggravated assault, discharging a firearm with intent and three counts of breaching firearm prohibition court orders. Court records show McLeod, who also goes by McLeod-Lecendre, has outstanding charges from Sasktoon.

Kenny Bear, 29, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and six counts of breaching firearm prohibition court orders.

Desiree Sewap, age 30, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of breaching prohibition orders.

All three were scheduled to make their first appearances on the charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday morning.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at https://www.p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=248/.
