Prince Albert driver charged after Alberta RCMP clock vehicle at 222 km/h
A Prince Albert driver is facing a criminal charge after RCMP in Alberta say a vehicle was clocked at 222 kilometres per hour in a 100 km/h zone.
Hanna RCMP said officers were conducting proactive patrols on Highway 9 near Range Road 165 just before 7 p.m. Sunday as part of a road safety and traffic enforcement priority.
Police said an eastbound vehicle was recorded travelling more than twice the posted speed limit before officers safely conducted a traffic stop.
The 24-year-old driver from Prince Albert was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code.
