Village of St. Louis celebrates new fire hall
A new fire hall in the village of St. Louis is about more than bricks and mortar, it represents what different parties can accomplish when they come together with a common goal.
The comment was made during Saturday’s grand opening celebration and came just 13 months after shovels hit the ground.
The building which is roughly 60 feet by 100 feet in size, has ample space for two engines, a water tanker and a wildland fire truck. There’s also plenty of room for equipment storage and a large meeting room.
Mayor Marc Caron, a former firefighter, explained that during his own experience just over a decade ago, resources were spread across the community and volunteer crew members were driving trucks from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
