Thousands crowd Central Ave. for annual Street Fair

Jun 20, 2026 | 4:03 PM

Central Avenue in downtown Prince Albert was the place to be on Saturday as residents flocked from all over for the city’s largest single day event.

A full seven blocks of the roadway were closed off for the 21st annual Prince Albert Downtown Business Improvement District (PADBID) Street Fair that included games, food, local vendors, live entertainment, and much more.

One man was fond of some of the classic cars that were on display in a car show and said they were a blast from his past.

“You used to see all these cars on the road in all different colours. I’m glad there are people still taking care of them today.”

Over a dozen cars were on display along 10th Street East, the majority as part of the Klassic Kruizers Kar Klub.

Among the vendors included hundreds of local businesses and even some dignitaries, like Prince Albert MP Randy Hoback and Sask NDP leader Carla Beck. A fun area with several inflatable bouncy castles and slides was also set up.

One of the new attractions of the Street Fair was the addition of a free bingo garden tent, courtesy of the Northern Lights Casino as part of their 30th anniversary celebration. Another new feature was Art Alley, where artists painted live using their unique artistic mediums.

The day began with a small parade for the Street Fair that was led by the Highlanders Pipes and Drums. In 2024, over 30,000 people attended the Street Fair, however, last year’s numbers were down a tad due to rescheduling.
