Canada captain Alphonso Davies trains individually as World Cup preparations continue
MONTREAL — Canada captain Alphonso Davies trained on his own Wednesday as the men’s national team continued preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
Davies, unlikely to play in Canada’s tournament-opener on June 12 due to a hamstring injury, jogged away from the main group and went through stretching exercises with a trainer at Centre Nutrilait, the practice facility of Major League Soccer club CF Montréal.
The Bayern Munich star joined midfielder Jacob Shaffelburg on return-to-play protocols as Canada continues to manage a growing list of injuries.
Defenders Moïse Bombito and Alfie Jones, meanwhile, joined midfielder Ali Ahmed in modified training.
