Jun 1, 2026 | 4:17 PM

Prince Albert police are investigating four separate aggravated assaults involving edged weapons that occurred within a 12-hour period between Friday night and Saturday morning.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

The first incident was reported around 9:30 p.m. Friday in the unit block of River Street West, where officers found a man suffering from injuries consistent with an edged weapon. A 23-year-old suspect was arrested about four hours later and charged with aggravated assault and breaching probation.

Around 1 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 800 block of River Street West for a report of an injured person. Investigators later located a man with serious but non-life-threatening injuries consistent with an edged weapon in the 600 block of 17th Street West. Police said the man was also wanted in connection with an unrelated aggravated assault investigation and was arrested after receiving medical treatment.

At about 2:35 a.m., police learned a man had arrived at Victoria Hospital with multiple injuries, also consistent with an edged weapon. Investigators believe the assault occurred at a licensed establishment in the 3200 block of Second Avenue West, but have not identified any suspects or witnesses.

A fourth victim arrived at Victoria Hospital around 10:20 a.m. Saturday with injuries consistent with an edged weapon. Police said investigators were unable to determine where or when the assault occurred.

All four investigations remain ongoing.

In a separate incident, police arrested two men following a break-and-enter at a business in the 100 block of 13th Street East on Saturday morning.

Officers responding to an alarm at about 10:46 a.m. found two suspects inside a secured compound transferring stolen property over a fence. The men fled on foot but were arrested nearby.

The stolen property was recovered and returned to the business owner. Police estimate damage at approximately $2,000.

The suspects, ages 33 and 36, are jointly charged with break and enter.
