Prince Albert police renew call for information in Lawrence Lavallee murder

May 28, 2026 | 10:26 AM

Four years after Lawrence Lavallee was fatally shot in Prince Albert, city police are still looking for the person responsible

The Major Crimes Unit and Lavallee’s family have renewed their plea for information about what happened on May 28, 2022.

“Today we are asking for the public’s help. Somebody knows what happened to Lawrence. Somebody knows the truth about who took his life. We are pleading with anyone who has information to please come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could bring answers to our family and help find justice for Lawrence. We will continue to speak his name, honour his memory and fight for the truth until justice is served for my son,” said Shannon Lavallee, Lawrence Lavallee’s mother.

Officers were called to the 800 block of 11th Avenue East just after 5:30 a.m. and found Lavallee in the 100 block of Eighth Street East suffering from serious injuries.

He was taken to Victoria Hospital, where he later died.

“We need people to come forward with any information. It doesn’t matter how small, and it doesn’t matter if we’ve spoken to you previously. Let’s get Lawrence’s family the answers they deserve,” said Sgt. Tyler Chester of the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit.

Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area between 5:15 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.

The Prince Albert Police Service can be reached at 306-953-4222. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
