WHL Final: Raiders battle Silvertips in Game 1 tonight
The WHL final is finally here, with the Prince Albert Raiders set to make their first appearance since winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup in 2019.
Prince Albert opens the series Friday on the road against the Everett Silvertips, the WHL’s top regular-season team. It marks the first time in these playoffs the Raiders enter a series without home-ice advantage.
The matchup features the top teams from each conference and the first-ever playoff meeting between the two clubs. Both teams are making their third appearance in the WHL final. The Raiders won championships in 1985 and 2019, while Everett lost in its previous trips in 2004 and 2018.
Everett finished first overall in the WHL with 117 points, while the Raiders topped the Eastern Conference and finished second overall.
