RCMP look for man wanted for shooting gun in Big River First Nation

A man who is suspected of shooting a gun following an altercation with a woman on the Big River First Nation, is wanted by RCMP.

Blaine Keenatch is charged with several gun charges and assault.

He is described as 5’11”, weighs 180 pounds and has brown eyes and hair. He also has letters and numbers tattooed on both of his hands.

Just after 6:15 p.m., police learned of the fight between a man and a woman outside of a residence in the community. During the altercation, the man pointed a gun at the woman and later discharged it.

Two witnesses approached to help the woman and the man then fled. No injuries were reported.

Big River RCMP detachment members responded, using a drone and a police tracking dog but the suspect has not been found yet.

The public is advised to not approach Keenatch if they see him. Instead, witnesses are asked to report sightings to RCMP at 310-RCMP.
