P.A.’s Kraus on the move after Victoria sends him to Brandon
Jayden Kraus will play a bit closer to home this upcoming Western Hockey League (WHL) season.
The Prince Albert born goaltender was traded Tuesday afternoon, being dealt from the Victoria Royals to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for netminder Ethan Eskit and a seventh-round pick in the 2029 draft.
The 2006-born puck stopper suited up in 72 games for the Royals over the last two seasons, posting a 33-21-4-6 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record with a 3.21 GAA and .894 SV per cent. During the 2024-25 season, Kraus finished ninth overall among WHL goaltenders with a 2.86 GAA and .908 SV per cent.
Growing up in P.A., Kraus spent two seasons with the AAA Mintos from 2021-2023 and managed a 26-19-0 (W-L-OTL) record to go along with a 2.64 GAA and .918 SV per cent. He was drafted by Victoria in the third round, 46th overall, in the 2021 WHL Draft.
