Ranking seventh among small municipalities, the City of Prince Albert has received national recognition as one of the top participating communities in Culture Days 2024.

With over 30 events and more than 1,800 participants, this year’s celebrations which were held in late September and early October, showcased the city’s vibrant arts, culture, and heritage scene.

“This recognition is an incredible honour and a testament to Prince Albert’s passionate commitment to supporting local arts, culture, and heritage,” says Tia Furstenberg, Arts & Culture coordinator for the City of Prince Albert. “The success of Culture Days is due to the hard work of our community organizations, artists, volunteers, and supporters. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve in 2025.”

Canada wide, Culture Days 2024 achieved a record-breaking milestone, engaging over 5 million people —14 per cent of the national population—through a diverse array of activities held in communities across the country.

Among the local events was a Dakota History Walk and Talk with Dr Leo J. Omani, the Tapestrama Cultural Festival, and an evening of the ‘Sights, Sounds and Tastes of Africa.’

Culture Days in Prince Albert are coordinated by a local committee with support from SaskCulture through Saskatchewan Lotteries, the Municipal Cultural Action Plan (City of Prince Albert), and funding from participating organizations’ sponsors.

Culture Days 2025 will take place from September 18 to October 12.
