Guns stolen and recovered

Youth charged after seven guns, ammo, electronics stolen from home near La Ronge

Aug 22, 2024 | 9:30 AM

Four youth from the La Ronge area have been charged after home in the community was broken into and multiple weapons and electronics were taken several days ago.

RCMP were told of the break-in at about 6:20 a.m. that saw four rifles, three handguns, a knife, ammunition, a TV, a computer, a bike, a cell phone and some smaller items stolen.

Officers went to another residence and arrested three male youths without incident, finding some of the stolen guns in the home. They later found additional stolen guns hidden in a bushed area near the house, one with a spent round in the chamber.

Further investigation led officers to another residence in the La Ronge area where they arrested another male youth and a female youth. The remaining stolen guns were found in the home. They also recovered the rest of the stolen property.

One of the male youth was released without charges, but the remaining four youths face a number of charges, including mischief over $5,000, breaking and entering to steal a firearm, and a count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

They also face several other charges. All suspects are to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Thursday.
