Teenage boy charged after Midtown vandalism spree

A teenaged boy is alleged to be responsible for causing a lot of damage in Prince Albert’s midtown area.

Early Friday, at approximately 2:35 a.m., the Prince Albert Police Service was informed that a person in the 500 block of 12 St. E. was vandalizing vehicles. Patrol members responded to the area, located, and arrested a youth nearby.

He was found to be in possession of a window breaking tool and a knife.

Upon confirming his identity it was discovered the youth had an outstanding arrest warrant for breach of probation and was to abide by a court ordered curfew.

The 16-year-old has been charged with Mischief under $5000 (x11), Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Obstruction, and Breach of Probation.

Police are encouraging residents in the 500 block of 12 St. East and the surrounding area to inspect their vehicles for vandalism. Anyone wishing to report related vandalism or with information otherwise believed to be relevant is asked to call the Prince Albert Police Service.
