U13 Wolfpack trying to win provincial title on home ice

Mar 26, 2024 | 11:30 AM

They’re the last team standing in Prince Albert Minor Hockey this spring, and now they’ll play for a provincial title Tuesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

The U13 Prince Albert Wolfpack play the Regina Buffalos in Game 2 of the provincial final Tuesday. Regina won the first game, so if P.A. wins tonight, the two teams will play a shortened third and deciding mini game immediately following Game 2.

If nothing is settled in Game 3, they’ll play sudden death overtime until a winner is crowned.

“No matter what, it’s going to be decided at the Art Hauser Centre tonight, said Trevor Redden, the general manager of Prince Albert Minor Hockey. “Interestingly enough, this is the last team standing in all of Prince Albert Minor Hockey. All of our other teams, their seasons have come to an end.”

“We’re really throwing all of our support behind the Wolfpack,” Redden continued. “They’re looking to do something that hasn’t been done here in Prince Albert in 11 years. The last time that a Prince Albert team has won this particular provincial playoff is 2013.”

Puck drop Tuesday is at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The Wolfpack defeated Saskatoon in the first round to reach the final, while Regina knocked off Moose Jaw to advance.
