RCMP investigate fatal rollover on Coxby Road

A single vehicle rollover that occurred Monday morning, claimed one life and sent three others to hospital.

That information coming from the Kinistino Fire Dept., one of the multiple agencies that responded to the scene north of Weldon on Coxby Road.

While en route, they were notified STARS Air Ambulance had also been dispatched. And so once on scene, members of the fire dept. then tended to passengers of the vehicle and set up to land STARS.

Crews then assisted EMS and RCMP with one patient and assisted STARS crew with patient transfer.

Once STARS was cleared crews assisted accident reconstruction officers with the removal of the data components of the vehicle.

“This was a fatal accident and we ask for respect of the family and friends of the victim,” a statement from the fire dept. explained.

Kinistino’s Fire Chief Brennen Smith confirmed for paNOW one person was airlifted to Saskatoon, and two taken by ground ambulance to Victoria hospital in Prince Albert.

Once cleared by RCMP, fire crews returned to the hall.

Following the crash, a one mile stretch of road was blocked off. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
