One of the three people charged in connection with the death of Tristan Chaboyer near Prince Albert may have his criminal charges resolved.

Discussions are ongoing between the lawyer for Harley Bear and the Crown Prosecutor, Prince Albert Provincial Court heard on Feb. 16.

Bear, 28, is charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder as are 45-year-old Kyle Charles and Allan Genereaux, 32.

Genereaux is also facing a charge of committing an indignity to human remains in connection with Chaboyer’s death.

Chaboyer was last seen alive on Sept. 4, 2020 and reported missing about a week later. It was almost a year before his remains were found in a wooded area near the city. DNA confirmed the remains were those of the missing 24-year-old.

Police determined he died of homicide.

Charles pleaded not guilty a week ago and will be tried on Sept. 25 and Genereaux will be back in court on Feb. 28.

Court records also show the Bear is now also facing a new charge of assault with a weapon.
