PAGC’s Justice Unit, Parkland Ambulance and Prince Albert Air Cadets Presents Its Version of The Hunger Games for Food Bank

The Prince Albert Grand Council’s Justice Unit, along with Parkland Ambulance and the Prince Albert Air Cadets, is hosting its version of “The Hunger Games” where each team is to raise as much money or food for the PA Food Bank as they can.

This is an updated version of programming that had happened in recent years initiated by Rick Sanderson who had started a cadet program called the First Nations Cadet Corps during his service with the RCMP.

He has been instructing cadets for some time now and presently instructs Red Earth, Sturgeon Lake and PAGC Cadets.

“While in the RCMP we used to have annual events where we brought the cadets and cops together to have some fun competitions to build up relations. We have decided to continue this and have included Parkland Ambulance and Air Cadets,” says Sanderson.

Below is schedule of events (At the former Margo Fournier Center)

The tentative Schedule is as follows:

1800 Hrs – Volleyball

Court #1 – Sturgeon Lake Cadets Vs RCMP

Court # 2 – Air Cadets Vs PA Police Service

1820 Hrs

Court #1 – Parkland Ambulance Vs PAGC Cadets

Court#2 – Winners face off from 1800 Hrs Game

1840 Hrs

Court # 2 – “A” Side Finals (Winners from Court #2 @ 1820 hrs & Winner from Court # 2 @ 1820 hrs Game)

Court #1 – “B” Side Final – one team eliminated by flip of coin, other two play-off

1st Place – 50 points (A Side Winners)

2nd Place – 30 points (A Side Losers)

3rd Place – 20 Points (“B” Side Winners)

1900 Hrs – Basketball Relay Event

Head to Head Competition determined by drawing of cards

(6 person Relay Teams – All six from each team is lined up and dribble to the end of the court and must make a basket in each of the 3 baskets, dribble back and hand off to the next person in line until all six have completed course.) Timed Event

1st Place – 50 Points

2nd Place – 35 Points

3rd Place – 20 Points

1930 Hrs – Blindman Race

One person will be blindfolded from each team with one person guiding him/her through a course through verbal commands to retrieve items and bring them back to their “Home” base.

1st Place – 50 Points

2nd Place – 35 Points

3rd Place – 20 Points

2000 Hrs – Dodgeball

Parkland Ambulance Vs Air Cadets

RCMP play the winner

1st Place – 50 Points

2nd Place – 35 Points

EGG TOSS –

If time permits, there will be an egg toss competition. 2 person teams, egg is tossed back and forth, after each toss, one person will move back on step.

1st Place – 50 Points

2nd Place – 35 Points

3rd Place – 20 Points

There will be a Christmas Spirit Award given to the team with the most funds collected to purchase hampers for the Food Bank.

The winners will be announced with a large trophy cup and take home plaque awarded to winning team .
