Not guilty pleas entered in Prince Albert child sex abuse material case

Nov 9, 2023 | 1:00 PM

A Prince Albert man facing multiple charges relating to sexual assault and child pornography, is maintaining his innocence.

Brian Campeau’s attendance was waived when the case was discussed Thursday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Speaking on Campeau’s behalf, lawyer Evan Strelioff entered not guilty pleas to all nine charges and elected for the case to be tried at provincial court.

No trial dates have been set and the case was adjourned to Nov. 23 for a bail hearing.

On June 14, 2023, police officers searched a residence in Prince Albert and seized several electronic devices.

In addition to the sexual assault and child pornography charges, Campeau, who was 68 at the time of his arrest, is also accused of sexual interference and indecent exposure to a minor.

The ICE unit includes officers from the RCMP and Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert Police Services.

Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
