Northern Bears drop back-to-back road games in Swift Current

The Mann-Northway Northern Bears continued to struggle early on in the campaign this weekend as Prince Albert dropped back-to-back games against the Swift Current Wildcats at the S3 Arenas.

The pair of losses come after picking up the first win of the season on Wednesday night in a 7-5 victory over the Battlefords.

Although the games were close, the Bears fell in Saturday’s contest 3-1 and 4-2 on Sunday.

Zayda Summach had the lone goal, and point, on Saturday while Nikita Krayetski was in goal for the Black and Orange, stopping 22 shots.

On Sunday, Prince Albert’s Tristyn Endicott and Ella Clarke were the goal scorers in the Bears’ late-game comeback attempt, while Mikiya Anderson tallied the lone assist on the weekend.

Annika Neufeldt got the start, making 33 stops as the Bears fall to 1-5-0-1 on the season.

Prince Albert will hit the ice again in a few weeks when they visit the Weyburn Gold Wings for a pair of games on Nov. 18 and 19.
