Four arrested in Sandy Bay after drugs & weapons seized
Four people have been arrested in Sandy Bay as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.
On Sept. 28, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the community and ended up finding 28 grams of crack cocaine, numerous firearms, ammunition, a machete, cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
As a result, 47-year-old Peter Merasty, 46-year-old Noreen Bear, 25-year-old Gene Merasty, and 20-year-old Sonny Merasty. RCMP have not confirmed whether the accused are related.
Each has since been charged one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, and seven counts of unlawful storage of firearm or ammunition.
