A woman accused of causing a multi-vehicle crash west of Prince Albert, is maintaining her innocence.

Not guilty pleas have been entered to three counts of dangerous driving, including two for causing bodily harm.

Lisa Smith is also accused of attempting to leave the scene of an accident and providing police with a false name.

The case was discussed Tuesday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court and a trial date was secured for Dec. 18. Smith’s attendance was waived for the hearing and the pleas were entered by her lawyer.

The crash on June 28 happened at the Crutwell turnoff and a total of three vehicles were involved.

RCMP confirmed two people were taken to hospital but their injuries were described as non-life threatening.

Smith was allegedly behind the wheel of the vehicle that was flipped onto its roof. Multiple witnesses, driving on the highway at the time, recalled for paNOW memories of seeing the vehicle travel at a very fast rate of speed and crossing the center line.

Smith was denied bail last month, and in addition to the above mentioned charges, is also accused of breaching a number of court related orders. She also has an outstanding charge for vehicle theft.

As per discussions heard in court on Tuesday, the latter charge is somewhat related to the crash and a not guilty plea has been entered on it as well.
