Youth charged with murder after assault in Pelican Narrows

A male youth has been charged with second-degree murder following a serious assault in Pelican Narrows.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning at a home in the community.

Initial investigation by RCMP found that the youth and a 30-year-old man got into an altercation. Police later found the man suffering from serious injuries.

He was taken to a local clinic where he died from his injuries. RCMP confirmed that the victim was from Pelican Narrows.

The youth was arrested that same morning in the community and has been charged with second-degree murder. Police said the accused and the victim are known to each other.
