Woman charged with attempted murder following shooting incident in Nipawin

A 29-year-old woman from Nipawin is facing several charges including attempted murder, in relation to a shooting incident in the community last week.

Denisha Bear was scheduled to appear Wednesday at Nipawin Provincial Court.

Also among the eight charges are uttering threats against a person, possession of a firearm without a licence, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

According to information provided earlier by RCMP, the victim of the shooting is a 44-year-old man. The crime was committed at a Nipawin home on the 600 block of Eighth Ave.

RCMP confirmed on Wednesday the victim remains in hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

In an attempt to gather evidence, Saskatchewan RCMP had earlier asked residents of Nipawin to check personal home video surveillance and door cameras for footage and report any suspicious activity.
