A Prince Albert hockey player is one step closer to representing her country against their historic rivals.

Stryker Zablocki is one of 71 players recently invited to participate in Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team selection camp.

The players are vying for a chance to represent Canada in a three-game series against the U.S. in Lake Placid, N.Y. from Aug. 14-20th

“We are thrilled with this group of 46 talented athletes who will participate in selection camp,” said Gina Kingsbury, Vice-President of Hockey Operations. “We are confident this group will come ready to compete for a spot to wear the Maple Leaf in international competition as we work towards winning a third-consecutive gold medal at the world championship.”

Zablocki spent last season with the Regina Rebels where she had 25 goals and 15 assists in 30 games while adding another 11 points in the playoffs, helping the Rebels win the provincial championship. She also registered three goals and three assists in the Esso Cup which took place in Prince Albert.

The U-18 selection camp is set to take place early next month in St. Catherines, Ont.
