RCMP investigate stabbing incident during St. Louis chuckwagon races

Parkland Ambulance has confirmed one person was taken to hospital in Prince Albert, following an incident Saturday afternoon on the St. Louis rodeo grounds.

The victim of the assault sustained minor injuries and was listed as being in good and stable condition. A person close to the incident informed paNOW the victim was stabbed with a screwdriver.

The incident happened as a large crowd watched the Pony Chariot and Chuckwagon races.

According to the St. Louis Fire Department Facebook page, crews were dispatched at 3:48 p.m. to establish a landing zone for a STARS Air Ambulance helicopter.

However, when Parkland Ambulance transported the victim to hospital, both STARS and the fire department stood down.

RCMP confirmed for paNOW that a youth was found and taken into custody. More details are expected to be released in the coming days.
