CFL, Genius Sports, unveil CFL LiveStats data collection system

TORONTO, Kan. — CFL statistics will feature a different look this season.

The league, in partnership with Genius Sports, will provide CFL LiveStats, a new data collection system. It will provide official play-by-play updates on every CFL game to power live betting solutions, tracking and CFL Game Zone, including the new CFL Fantasy and CFL Pick ‘Em.

CFL LiveStats will begin with the league’s exhibition schedule. 

The league will introduce new features throughout the season, including historical play-by-play data and statistics for public consumption.

“We are excited to leverage this incredible technology to help tell the story of our remarkable league,” said CFL COO David Goldstein in a statement. “Through Genius Sports and its state-of-the-art LiveStats tool, we are revolutionizing how fans, media and stakeholders connect with the CFL’s world-class action and athletes.

The CFL began its partnership with Genius Sports in December 2021. Last year, the parties launched CFL Game Zone, which offered league updates and exclusive offers from the CFL and its partners and attracted over 30,000 new registrations.
