Two men who were charged in the death of Wesley Custer in August, 2020 have now had their respective cases committed for trial.

Curtis Ledoux and Tyson Lachance will be tried at Court of King’s Bench in Prince Albert. No dates have been set as of yet.

Lachance is facing a charge of second degree murder. Ledoux is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Wesley Custer was 20 years old when he was dropped off at the Shellbrook Hospital on Aug. 21, 2020, with serious injuries. He died shortly after.

Four other people have been charged in the case.

Evan Ledoux, who was initially charged with manslaughter, and later has his charge upgraded to first-degree murder, will have his matter spoken to on May 23 at provincial court.

Brian Dreaver, 30, from Ahthakakoop, Kyle Standing, 25, from Saskatoon, Matthew Whitstone, 29, of Pelican Lake, have all been charged with one count of first degree murder, and also all have pending court dates this month at provincial court.

In addition to two siblings, Wesley Custer also leaves behind two young children, a son and a daughter. Police have not said what the motive may have been for, but family has disclosed their belief it was gang related.
