Six months jail for mischief and resisting arrest

A 25-year-old Montreal Lake man was given a six-month jail sentence in Prince Albert Provincial Court after attempting to disarm two PAPS officers and grab a conducted energy device.

Kane Charles was sentenced on April 5 after being found guilty of several charges from the incident on July 10, 2022.

Police were called to a disturbance just before 4:30 a.m. in the 500 block of River Street East.

Charles was spotted kicking a vehicle before going into a nearby home. When police found him on the back steps of the residence and tried to arrest him, Charles resisted, became combative and tried to grab one of the officer’s CEW.

The struggle ended when a nearby resident came over and assisted.
