RCMP seize 240 grams of methamphetamine near Montreal Lake

Police seized more than 240 grams of methamphetamine from a Pinehouse Lake woman during an ongoing investigation.

On March 31, Montreal Lake RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving an SUV on Highway 2 a few kilometres north of the Montreal Lake turn off.

Upon arrival, officers located an SUV stuck in a ditch. As officers were investigating, they observed signs of drug trafficking activity in the vehicle and entered into an impaired operation investigation.

As a result, a woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

The driver fled from police on foot and officers have been working to locate him. His identity cannot be confirmed at this time as he provided false identification to police.

The man is approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds with a medium build. He has brown eyes and black hair. He also appeared to have face tattoos and he was last seen wearing all black clothing.

A search of the driver and the passenger resulted in officers locating 242 grams of methamphetamine, 21 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash, and items consistent with drug trafficking activity, including two cell phones, a digital scale, and score sheets.

Gailynn Ratte, 29, of Pinehouse Lake was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.00 and possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

Ratte made her first appearance in court in Waskesiu on April 3. She was scheduled to appear in court today in Prince Albert.
