Shark excels at Western Canadian Para-Championship
Ali. D was the lone Prince Albert Swim Club Shark to compete in the Western Canadian championships
March 16- 19, 2023 in Calgary.
It is Ali’s second time to Westerns, compete against top para-swimmers from the Western Canadian
provinces and territories. Ali earned 165 points, which put the Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club in 12th
place in the club’s women ranking. A total of 54 clubs were represented.
Ali achieved the following results:
• Gold in 50-metre freestyle with a new best personal time.
• Gold in 100-metre breaststroke.
• Gold in 200-metre individual medley with a new best personal time.
• Silver in 100-metre backstroke with a new best personal time.
• Silver in 100-metre freestyle with a new best personal time.
• Silver in 400-metre freestyle with a new best personal time.
Ali already qualified for the Nationals at the end of July
