Man pleads guilty to mail theft and fraud charges

Mar 23, 2023 | 4:52 PM

Jarrett Sauve pleaded guilty to multiple charges involving the theft of mail around Prince Albert over the last year, along with defrauding Harolds grocery store and and Prince Albert Housing.

The offences first started in April of last year, involving fraud and Prince Albert Housing with other incidents following at Harold’s IGA grocery store and Lake Country Co-op.

Sauve also admitted to damaging mailboxes in 1500 Olive Diefenbaker Drive at the Apple Green apartments.

Sauve appeared in Prince Albert court on Thursday on a series of charges and said he hoped to have them dealt with the same day.

His guilty pleas were accepted but sentencing will take a bit more time as the judge asked for a pre-sentence report.

Because they take time to prepare, Sauve’s sentencing is now set for May 30.

The Crown and his defence lawyer both proposed an 18 month conditional sentence order, which judges usually agree to but are not bound by.

It was his third appearance since first being charged three days before.
